Name-based criminal record checks (sometimes called “CPICs”) are the quickest and easiest way to determine if a person has a criminal record in Canada. These criminal record checks are performed using a person’s name and date of birth against the RCMP's Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system. This consists of a check of the National Repository of Criminal Records and may also include searches of other national and local police databases.
The results of your name-based criminal record check will be emailed to you at the end of the process in a tamper-evident PDF document. At this time, we do not issue hard copies of the results.
*You might be required to submit fingerprints in the event an incomplete result is returned. This can happen if you share a similar name or date of birth with someone who has a criminal record.
